Turkmen Initiative for Human Rights, International Partnership for Human Rights and the Netherlands Helsinki Committee have submitted a contribution to this year’s EU-Turkmenistan Human Rights Dialogue, which will take place in Brussels on 8 July 2011. The contribution describes the repressive environment that civil society continues to face in Turkmenistan. It highlights a number of recent cases of harassment of civil society and features recommendations for measures the EU should urge the Turkmen authorities to take to improve the current situation.
