Kazakhstan: “Coordinated Civil Society Action to Promote Rule of Law for All” – Project Presentation

On 11 April 2024, an event was organised in Astana, Kazakhstan to present the new EU-funded project, “Coordinated Civil Society Action to Promote the Rule of Law for All”, which is jointly implemented by the Public Foundation “Legal Policy Research Centre” (LPRC) and International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) in 2024-2026. The project aims to increase civil society capacity to promote the rule of law and respond to challenges in the criminal justice system in Kazakhstan.

Representatives of government agencies, civil society, lawyers, journalists, research institutions and international organisations attended the event in Astana, where Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan, Johannes Baur, as well as LHR and IPHR representatives and experts spoke followed by open discussion. The event was conducted in a hybrid format.
